Together We’ve Begun
A poem about falling in love.
How do we end our kisses,
How do we separate our lips?
How do we turn off our passion,
To end our amorous fits?
How do we stop brushing faces,
Caressing our tingling skin?
It’s a feeling sweet and soft,
Like a sonnet from a violin.
How do we end our gazing,
Into each other’s longing eyes?
How do we cease our tears of joy,
After trying so many tries?
How do we unhold our hands,
When the warmth is double-fold?
How do we get to tomorrow,
Not having hands to hold?
How do we part and walk away,
Saying goodbye too many times?
How do we sleep alone at night,
While together in our minds?
There is no way for any of these,
They simply cannot be done.
Yet we suffer all of them,
Because Together We’ve Begun.
